TV Ads for Funeral Insurance

Last night while watching the news about the aftermath of Katrina, I watched a commercial touting the “Silver Care Plan,” a mail order funeral insurance product.  Jack White, a well-known restaurant reviewer on KGTV in San Diego, explains that a funeral is “something we’ll all someday need.”  The tie-in with the deaths from Katrina appeared somewhat macabre to me.

The ad also explains that you must be old enough to qualify — that is, you must be born on or before a certain date — which I can’t remember — which probably means I’m old enough to qualify.

I’ve searched the Internet to locate a website for the company selling the plan to no avail.  I’ve found numerous references in blogs to the ads and in television station advertising records, but no details about the company.
