Massachusetts Legislature delays voting on Same-Sex Marriage Amendment until after November Election

The Massachusetts Legislature decided 100 to 91 to wait until November 9th election to vote on whether a proposed amendment banning same-sex marriage should be placed as a referendum on the ballot for voters in 2008.   See Katie Zezima, Vote on Same-Sex Marriage Is Delayed in Massachusetts, NY Times (July 13, 2006).
