Wealthy Client CLE

Aba_cleThe American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Probate & Trust Law and the ABA Center for Continuing Legal Education are sponsoring a telconference and live audio webcast on August 7, 2007 entitled 21st Century Advanced Estate Planning for Wealthy Clients.

Here is a description of the program:

The largest transfer of wealth in history is happening now and will continue over the next 15 years. Families that have accumulated significant wealth are at risk if their estate plans fail to take advantage of the many opportunities available to preserve and protect wealth for future generations. In spite of this, many wealth holders have done only partial planning or have not reviewed their plans in light of their important family values and goals. This presentation is designed to present the comprehensive planning process from many angles.

Wealthy families will gain the most from their estate planning experience when their advisors think of comprehensive planning in three distinct areas:

    • Control or elimination of estate taxes and protection of assets from lawsuits
    • Clarifying, communicating, and perpetuating family values
    • The role of charitable planning and its relationship to tax reduction and the continuation of the family’s values

This presentation will focus on the critical elements that create a successful outcome for both the wealth holders and their advisors.  Various facets of the planning process from initial interview to implementation of strategy will be discussed.
