Steeler Update
Earlier on this blog, I discussed the considerable family and business strife involved with the Pittsburgh Steelers professional football team.
Here are some recent developments according to Billionaire Druckenmiller withdraws offer to buy majority share of Steelers, ESPN.com, Sept. 19, 2008:
- Stanley Druckenmiller has ceased his attempt to purchase a majority share of the team.
- The withdrawal is reportedly based on the owners wanting more money for their shares than Stanley was offering.
- “At least three of the five Rooney brothers want to sell their equal shares in the team partly to avoid costly future inheritance taxes for their children and grandchildren.”
