Seven Biggest Social Media Mistakes
A list of the seven biggest mistakes individuals and companies make when using social media is below:
- Failing to have a social media compliance policy (a registered representative must reference the rules of his or her B/D)
- Allowing an account to go inactive by not implementing a social media strategy
- Not using archiving software to filter and export your posted content to third party collection services
- Posting personal content (e.g. photos of you drinking with your buddies) where professional contacts have access to it
- Not taking the time to be selective when it comes to the connections and contacts added
- Engaging in too much push marketing
- Failing to actively engage with followers by not following-up on posts and comments
