Family of Slain Yale Pharmacology Student Disagrees with Suit Against Yale
The court appointed administrator for the estate of Annie Le (the Yale pharmacology student who was killed in September 2009) filed a complaint against Yale last Tuesday asking for unspecified damages. Annie’s father and the aunt and uncle who raised Annie disagree with the suit. Annie’s mother, Vivian Le, is the only family member on board with the suit.
A New Haven attorney stated that though Annie’s aunt and uncle have little legal recourse to intervene in the suit, other family members may have the ability to disrupt the pending suit. For example, were Annie’s father to submit an objection to a Connecticut probate court, the judge might put a stop the suit.
A spokesman for Yale University recently stated in an email to Yale Daily News that the University feels it did all it could for the Le family during the time of Annie’s death.
