Passing Passwords

Images-2Passmywill.com is a website where users can store the passwords for email accounts and social media networks; the website will then send those passwords to the user’s relatives upon the user’s death. Users create an account and then make a will describing how to pass on the passwords for their facebook, twitter, other networks sites. If the user passes away, the website will verify the user’s death and then distribute the passwords to relatives as the user indicated in the will.

While this may be a quick and easy way to manage the disposition of important passwords after death, it is probably more advisable and safer to go ahead and include your passwords in a traditional will.

Special thanks to Jerod Slay (Attorney, Lubbock, TX) for bringing this website to my attention.
