Making An Office More Accommodating for Aging Clients
With the Baby Boomer Generation reaching retirement age, planners will be working with more aging clients. WealthCounsel provides some practice advice on how you can make your office more accommodating for seniors.
The key things to address while planning out your office space include cognitive awareness, mobility, vision and hearing. Cognitive awareness considerations include making hallways wide enough so walking aids can fit through, having sufficiently large print on documents, and lighting the office well enough for clients with failing vision. Other considerations involve hearing issues. Eliminating background noise or making eye contact with clients can help in this area. Most importantly, being patient with clients will go a long way in making the client feel comfortable with you.
