Former Team Wrestling Gold Medalist Searching For Scammers

Kurt Angle, former Team USA wrestling gold medalist, is attempting to locate phone scammers who scammed his eighty year old mother out of $4,000 after convincing her a family member was in danger. According to Kurt, an individual from the Dominican Republic called his mother and claimed that Ms. Angle’s grandson was in a local jail and needed $4,000. Kurt’s mother wired the cash that day and received a phone call the following day demanding $4,000 more.

Mrs. Angel called Kurt before sending the additional $4,000, and the two discovered that the family member who was allegedly in jail was actually fine and not in the Dominican Republic. Kurt then contacted local authorities. According to the FBI, international scammers have targeted many elderly victims in the United States.
