Tennessee Judge Willingly Changes Baby Messiah’s Name to Martin
Theparents of baby Messiah went to court because they could not agree on his lastname. However, Child Support MagistrateLu Ann Ballew decided it was his first name that needed changing.
Ballewordered his name to be changed to Martin, his mother’s surname, saying, “Theword ‘Messiah’ is a title and it’s a title that has only been earned by oneperson and that one person is Jesus Christ.” She believed his name would “put him at odds” with many in the heavilyChristian county. The mother has decidedto appeal this order.
