Mexico Supreme Court Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage
The Supreme Court in Mexico has issued a decision that effectively legalizes same-sex marriage nationwide. The Court has held that it would be unconstitutional for Mexican states to prohibit same-sex marriage. Mexico will join a growing number of Latin American countries that have legalized same-sex marriage; these countries include Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. Chile and Ecuador are expected to legalize same-sex marriage in the near future.
