The Honor Project Trust Distributes $6 Million to Charities
The Honor Project Trust was created in Ohio through the judicial equitable remedy of cy pres, as a result of a surplus of disgorged funds accessed from defendants in a lawsuit in Ohio. Over $6 million was distributed to 226 charitable organizations that assist Ohio residents. Out of the charities receiving funds, 23 provide assistance with drug and alcohol dependence, and mental health. One of the rehabilitation centers is the ORCA House in Cleveland, Ohio, which received $50,000 from the trust.
