Arkansas Attorney General Seeks Stay on Same-Sex Marriage Decision
As I have previously discussed, same-sex couples have traveled overnight and waited in long lines seeking marriage licenses in Arkansas after Judge Chris Piazza overturned Arkansas’ same-sex marriage ban. Now, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel is seeking a stay on the order from the Arkansas Supreme Court. The Attorney General is acting consistently with his previous statements that he would defend the state’s ban despite supporting same-sex marriage. This adds Arkansas to the roughly 30 states with pending same-sex marriage lawsuits.
