Hawaiian Surfer Finds Ashes of SoCal Woman

In January, a surfer found a wrapped container on a Hawaiianbeach.  Inside the container, she foundan urn containing the ashes of Betty Rhea Hilton Hauptman, a Southern Californiawoman who committed suicide months ago.

Hauptman’s body was found in her Marina del Rey apartment onthe 1st of January.  The funeral homesaid her remains were given to the proper party whose identity is unknown.  The surfer who found the urn plans onscattering her ashes in the ocean unless someone soon claims it.
