NCBA Joins Fight Against Estate Tax
As I have previously discussed, the Death Tax RepealAct of 2013 has been introduced in both the House and the Senate in an effortto permanently get rid of the estate tax.
The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) haspledged their full support of this legislation, stating that they will continuefighting the tax “until it’s gone.”
Just like the American Farm Bureau Federation, theNCBA believes the estate tax is a death warrant for family businesses in thatranch families are forced to sell off valuable land and equipment to meet such ahigh tax.
The current estate tax applies to individual estatesover $5.12 million with a top rate of 40%.
