UK Government Under Criticism Concerning Lack of Will Regulation
As I have previously discussed, the UK Government has decided notto regulate will writing despite a recommendation from the Legal ServicesBoard.
Fenland legal expert BrianBowser, of the well-known law firm Bowser, Ollard & Bentley, has lashed outat Justice Secretary Chris Grayling for leaving the public vulnerable tounregulated will writers providing inadequate wills. Bowser calls the Government’s decision “madness,”believing it’s better to have no will than an unclear will.
Instead of regulation, the Government hascalled for better consumer education as well as a greater use of consumerprotections already in place.
