Article on Applicable Law to Succession Upon Death in the European Parliament

Isabel Rodriguez-Uria Suarez (University of Santiago de Compostela) has recently published an article entitled, The Applicable Law to Succession Upon Death in the New Regulation (EU) No. 650/2012, (April 2013).  Provided below is the abstract from SSRN:

This paper analyzes the applicable law to the successionmortis causa as defined by the Regulation (EU) No 650/2012 of the EuropeanParliament and of the Council of 4 July 2012 on jurisdiction, applicable law,recognition and enforcement of decisions and acceptance and enforcement ofauthentic instruments in matters of succession and on the creation of aEuropean Certificate of Succession. The general rules determining the lexsuccessionis and the special rules setting out the applicable law to wills as wellas the agreements as to succession are the main subject of this article. Thescope of the aforementioned laws is also analyzed thoroughly.
