Adult Adoption Not Recognized

In Otto v. Gore, 45 A.3d 120 (Del. 2012), the Supreme Court of Delaware held that the settlor’s daughter’s adoption of her ex-husband does not make him a grandchild of the settlors because the evidence showed that the adoption was carried out to “undermine” the intentions of the settlors.
