What Happens Now That More People are Waiting to Have Kids
Couples are waiting longer to have children because many couples are more focused on education and their careers. Economic concerns are also a contributing factor to the higher age of first-time parents. The average age of first-time parents has risen from 21 to 25 in recent years.
For those couples who are waiting to have children, one thing to consider is that those children will be taking care of you in your older years earlier than they might have to otherwise — “you’re ensuring that your children will grow up faster than you ever had to.”
