Hearing Set In Britney Spears Suit

Brit spears
Brand Sense Partners, a company that has provided licensing opportunities for Britney Spears, sued Spears on March 30 for breach of contract. The company is seeking over $10 million. Spears countersued Brand Sense Partners, alleging that the company delayed paying Spears her proceeds for an Elizabeth Arden deal for months.

Attorneys for Brand Sense Partners now claim they cannot defend against Spears’ countersuit as a result of a probate court blocking the attorneys from taking Spears’ depositions on the grounds that the singer is incompetent to testify. A hearing is set for Monday to determine if Spears is incompetent. Brand Sense Partners will likely use Spears’ recent concert tours, public appearances, and media interviews as evidence of the pop star’s competency.

Special thanks to David S. Luber (Attorney at law, Florida Probate Attorney Wills and Estates Law Firm) for bringing this to my attention.
