Twisted Love Triangle: Wife Wants Girlfriend to be Surrogate Mother
George Kamau killed himself on Monday in the home of his girlfriend, Etaghua Asefa. Justice Kornreich signed off on a sperm-preservation request from George’s grieving widow, Victoria Chege. The wife named the girlfriend as the family friend and appointed surrogate mother to receive George’s sperm.
Victoria says that George wanted a family and would have approved of the surrogacy, but the Sperm and Embryo Bank of New Jersey refuses to carry out the procedure until it receives court approval. Even if the procedure is approved, George’s sperm may not be viable because Victoria waited too long to put the request in.
