‘[My] children don’t need $500 million’: Mick Jagger says Rolling Stones have no plans to sell music catalog
In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Mick Jagger, the lead singer of the Rolling Stones, stated that the band has no intentions of selling their extensive music catalog, despite recent moves by artists such as Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, who earned approximately $200 million each from such sales.
Jagger emphasized that the main reason behind this decision is that neither he nor his eight children require financial gain. He further expressed that leaving a substantial sum of money for his children, ranging in age from 6 to 52, is unnecessary for them to live comfortably. Instead, if he were to sell, Jagger would likely contribute his portion of the proceeds to charitable causes, aiming to make a positive impact on the world. This approach mirrors other affluent celebrities who opt for philanthropic endeavors over leaving giant sums to their descendants.
