Fallout From Panama Papers Grows As PM Cameron Faces Tough Questions

ArticlePictureThe leak of what is now known as the Panama Papers has caused a global uproar as revelations about the offshore accounts of various politicians ranging from relatives of Chinese Communist Party members to the Prime Minister of Iceland. But the fallout is spreading and now hovers above the head of British Prime Minister David Cameron after it was revealed his father was named in the data dump. Now, after a failed attempt to separate himself from the scandal, he is being attacked from another angle after it was revealed his mother made two transfers totaling £200,000 to the PM in what has been called an estate tax avoidance scheme. This comes on the heels of his promise to crack down on tax avoidance which has been a major political issue in the UK as of late. While many from the opposition are calling for his resignation, Cameron is unlikely to leave office as he, currently, has the support of his Conservative Party which recently gained an outright majority in the Parliament.
