Another Case Of Mistaken Cremation Occurs In New York
The loss of a loved one is a trying time for the family and friends of the deceased. A funeral is often the moment that allows people to say goodbye and helps to process the sense of grief and loss while offering some closure. But what happens when nobody gets that chance to mourn? One New York family is sadly finding an answer to that question after the body of their mother was lost while being transported between funeral homes and then cremated. At first, the family heard nothing, despite repeated inquiries, before being told of the cremation and given an urn with their loved one’s remains. But it turned out the ashes they got were those of another, which ultimately happened twice, before being told that the remains cannot be located. Currently, the family is suing all three funeral homes involved in the mix up for negligence with no date has yet been for trial.
