ExpressO Manuscript Service
The following message is reproduced with the permission of Jean-Gabriel Bankier, Manager of ExpressO, and discusses an innovative service. I am seriously considering testing this out with one of my upcoming articles. If you have used the service and would be willing to have me post your experience, please send an e-mail to gwb@professorbeyer.com.
Dear Colleague,
The spring submission season is underway. If you are submitting your manuscript, consider using ExpressO, the on-line manuscript delivery service found at http://law.bepress.com/expresso
ExpressO makes law review submissions fast and easy. You can deliver your cover letter, CV, and manuscript to your choice of over 450 American law school reviews – including all of the top 100 – simply by uploading the electronic files to our site. We have logged more than 40,000 deliveries since July 2003, and garnered the praise of review editors and authors alike: http://law.bepress.com/expresso/editor_testimonials.html
Submitting your manuscript through ExpressO has a number of advantages. We actively maintain submission policies for hundreds of law reviews, incorporating changes into our web site. For example, we alert ExpressO users when law review volumes are full and no longer accepting submissions for the season. Our service also allows authors to track and confirm delivery of paper copies, and send a single expedite request simultaneously to multiple journals. To further help authors we have surveyed law review editors about their preferences. Find the results at: http://law.bepress.com/expresso/guide_index.html
The electronic manuscript delivery fee is US$2 per law review. With each electronic submission your documents are sent to law reviews as an e-mail attachment as well as posted within a dedicated and secure web site created for each law review. Authorized editors have the option to access submissions there from any computer. Several law reviews in the top 100 require hard copies of manuscripts. In these instances, The Berkeley Electronic Press prints and mails the submissions. The delivery fee for these publications is US$6.50. A detailed receipt will be emailed to you upon completion of delivery. You may wish to forward that email receipt to your dean for reimbursement.
Try the service and submit a manuscript for free (four electronic submissions) by going to the following link: http://law.bepress.com/expresso
Wishing you a successful submission season,
