Michigan Modernizes Various Probate Laws
Michigan modified its disclaimed interest statute to explain what occurs when a donee of a power of appointment disclaims the power.
The statute also clarifies that a personal representative, conservator, or trustee may hire an attorney who is associated with the personal representative, conservator or trustee and may act upon the attorney’s recommendation without independent investigation.
