Canada & Same-Sex Marriage
Marriages between individuals of the same sex have been legal in Canada since July 2005.
The new Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, “has pledged to hold a vote in Parliament on overturning Canada’s same-sex marriage law * * * [which] made Canada the fourth country in the world to legalize gay and lesbian marriage nationwide.”
