Praises and Scholarship

Congratulations to Joan Krause, from theUniversity of Houston. She has been promoted to Full Professor. 

AnnMurphy (Gonzaga) is teachingComparative Elder Law in Florence, Italy right now for the first time inconnection with the Gonzaga in Florence program.

Katherine Pearson (Dickinson) was selected to receive a“Special Achievement Award” for “extraordinary legislative efforts in 2005 onbehalf of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Elder law Section” by thePennsylvania Bar Association Board of governors. The award was presented onJune 8, 2006.

Also, two of her Elder Law Clinic studentsfrom Penn State Dickinson School of Law students, Irene Kang and JacquelineOlexy, have had articles addressing diversity issues in elder law accepted forpublication by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Olezy was the topprize winner in NAELA’s Student Writing Competition, and she received a cashaward along with an all expenses paid trip to NAELA’s symposium this pastApril.

Finally, The American College ofTrust and Estate Counsel Journal has a new editor debuting in its Summer 2006edition. Susan T. Bart(Chicago, Illinois) becomes the new editor, and Read Moore is her assistanteditor.
