Life Insurance Advice

Sandra Block provides some good advice regarding life insurance in her column entitled Bad news, good news: Millions need life insurance; it’s getting cheaper, USA Today, Oct. 11, 2006.  Ms. Block explains that premiums for life insurance have been falling tremendously and thus there is no good excuse for not having sufficient life insurance.

Here are some of the life insurance tips on which she elaborates in her article:

• Buy term insurance to save money,
• Do not rely on insurance provided by an employer as the face value is often too low,
• Do not assume you are uninsurable just because you have health problems, and
• Shop around — prices vary considerably for the same face value.
