Martin L. Fried Honored
Martin L. Fried (Crandall Melvin Professor of Wills & Trusts, College of Law, Syracuse University) has been selected to receive the New York State Bar Association’s 2007 President’s Pro Bono Service Award (Individual Attorney Award, Fifth Judicial District). From the Call for Nominations:
By bestowing these prestigious awards, the Association seeks to recognize outstanding pro bono service and to convey a message to the legal profession and the general public about the importance of such service in helping to provide all New Yorkers with equal access to the justice system, regardless of income. …Four criteria, all referring to service rendered in 2006, will be considered in making awards: number of pro bono clients served; number of hours of service; impact of service on clients; and impact of service to pro bono program.
