Attorney Disbarred for Evil Conduct in Probate Case

Here is a report of a Texas lawyer whose unethical conduct in a probate matter caused him to be disbarred.  See Disciplinary Actions, 71 Tex. B.J. 412 (2008):

On Dec. 7, 2007, [Attorney], 64, of Dallas, was disbarred after a finding of professional misconduct by a panel of the District 6-A Grievance Committee. The panel found that after being hired in a probate matter, [he] failed to take any action and failed to return the complainant’s requests for information about the status of the matter. The complainant terminated the attorney-client relationship and requested the return of the file and the fee. [He]failed to return the file or the unearned fee.

[He] violated Rules 1.01(b)(1), 1.03(a), and 1.15(d). He was ordered to pay $1,981.50 in attorney’s fees and costs and $750 in restitution.
