Same-sex marriage approved in New Hampshire

New_Hampshire On June 3, 2009, New Hampshire Governor John Lynch signed House Bill 73 authorizing same-sex marriages.

However, same-sex couples will need to wait until next year to take advantage of the new law as it will not be effective until January 1, 2010.

New Hamphire becomes the sixth state to allow same-sex marriages following Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, and Iowa.
