More On Nina Wang and her Feng Shui Master
Here is more detailed information about Nina Wang, whom I briefly blogged about yesterday:
- When she died of cancer in 2007, she was a widow without children and worth an estimated $3.9 billion.
- Her husband was declared dead in 1999 after he was kidnapped in 1990.
- Wang executed a will in 2002, leaving her assets to a charitable foundation largely controlled by Wang’s siblings.
- Wang executed another will in 2006, leaving her assets to fung shui master Tony Chan.
- The Wang family is fighting to invalidate the 2002 will, asserting that Wang was mentally incompetent and that Chan conned her into executing the will for feng shui purposes.
- Chan, a married man 23 years younger than Wang, claims the two were lovers who also acted as a married couple.
- During her life, Wang is estimated to have given Chan $258 million, including funds to pay for his wedding.
