Nevada Recognizes Domestic Partnerships

Nevada A new law in Nevada, effective on Oct. 1, 2009, allows same-sex and opposite-sex couples to enter into a domestic partnership.  For a fee, couples can sign a contract that essentially gives the couple the same rights and responsibilities as a married couple.

Nevada’s Governor initially vetoed the bill, but the Nevada Assembly voted to override the governor’s veto.
