Create a Pet Trust, or Send Your Cat to The Cat Boat Sanctuary

If a client is not able, or willing, to dedicate their home or a trust to the care of their pet cats, then a cat sanctuary like De Poezenboot in Amsterdam may be an option. 

Translated, De Poezenboot means the The Cat Boat, and it is literally a barge resting in one of Amsterdam’s canals. The Cat Boat was originally purchased by an Amsterdam resident who did not have room in her home for all the stray cats she cared for.  She purchased a barge in 1966 for the cats and in 1987, The Cat Boat Foundation became a registered charity.  The 50 cats living on the barge are cared for and are allowed to roam free.
