First Nine Months of Washington’s Death With Dignity Act: 63 Suicide Doses and 36 Confirmed Deaths
Sixty-three prescriptions were issued in Washington state to persons between age 48 and 95 during the first nine months after the state enacted the Death with Dignity Act. Of the 63 prescriptions issued, at least 36 have been used to carry out a suicide.
