Options For A Loved One’s Facebook Account After The Loved One Dies

When a loved one dies, the family has the following options for the loved one’s Facebook account:

• Report the account to be memorialized, which will remove certain information and leave the profile for only confirmed friends to view.
• Request that the account be closed.
• Sue Facebook for access to the account.
• Access the account if the dearly departed left behind his or her user information.
