Planned Charitable Giving Continues During Federal Estate Tax Hiatus

PhilanthropyEarly reports indicate that the federal estate tax hiatus has not caused a dramatic decrease in planned charitable giving and that any decline is part of a larger, decade-long decline.  Philanthropic giving continues for a number of reasons, including the likelihood that the estate tax will return next year and the fact that people give to charity for reasons other than tax savings.
