When Is Grandpa Too Old to Drive?

Elderlydriver

According to Chad Strowmatt, one of five certified driver rehabilitation specialists in Texas, senior citizens have the same high number of car accidents as teens on an accident-per-mile basis. But convincing seniors to surrender their car keys is not an easy task, and some will go to great lengths to get back behind the wheel.

In order to determine whether or not an older relative’s keys should be taken away, family members should occasionally drive with the older relative, keeping an eye on speed, ability to stay within the lane, and brake timing.
