Tories and Lib Dems Cutting Deals

UKIn the UK, the Tories and Lib Dems are hammering out compromises in order to get a coalition running. Both sides have seized the opportunity to bring their policies and ideas to fruition.

For example, the Tories have “dropped their idea to increase the threshold for inheritance tax to £1million – and the Lib Dems will be free to vote against Conservative plans for tax breaks for married couples. In return, they have dropped their mansion tax initiative, which would have hit owners of homes valued at more than £2million.”
