IRS Publishes Decisions of Disciplinary Cases

IRS

In 2008, the IRS’ Office of Professional Responsibility started publishing the decisions of the judges and officials who handle its disciplinary cases. This system provides much more insight to tax advisors regarding what exactly can get them in trouble as well as what to do if it happens. It also provides the public with insights into how OPR cracks down on violators.

Robert Keebler, a CPA in Wisconsin, said that knowing certain behavior will be met with harsh punishment is a strong incentive to avoid that behavior.

Special thanks to Jim Hillhouse (Wealth Counsel) for bringing this to my attention.
