California Judge Rejects Same-Sex Marriage Ban
A federal judge in California struck down Proposition 8, the voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage. Judge Walker said that banning same-sex marriages is not rationally related to a legitimate state interest and that it unfairly discriminates against gay men and women.
This case is expected to affect elections in November and to eventually reach the Supreme Court.
