Mental Functions May Improve Late in Life
An emerging body of research shows that although dementia is a possibility, many mental functions actually get better in old age. Vocabulary improves, and so does facility with synonyms and antonyms. Older brains contain more expert knowledge and are able to solve problems quicker by comparing them to similar past situations.
