Although trust companies and independent investment advisors have had a rocky relationship in the past, directed trusts have been emerging as a win-win vehicle lately.
Christopher Holtby and Chuck Sharpe, co-founders of Wealth Advisors Trust, have published a new report, Directed Trusts Made Simple, as a way to help advisors and clients understand how these trusts work. The first report of the series gives an overview of the differences between traditional trusts and directed trusts, describes how to bring trust services into an investment-based practice, and directs advisors on how to make sure you’ve found the right trust company.
