Judge Throws Out Jury Verdict; Howard Stern Walks in Anna Nicole Smith Case
As I previously blogged, prosecutors and California Gov. Jerry Brown went after Howard K. Stern and others for conspiring to fuel Anna Nicole Smith’s drug habit. The jury found Stern guilty of 2 counts of conspiracy. The judge claimed that the conviction was baseless, threw it out, and made Stern a free and innocent man. The judge also sentenced psychiatrist Khristine Eroshevich to no more than one year of probation and a $100 fine for obtaining medicine for Smith under a false name because she “was acting out of concern for Smith.”
District Attorney Steve Cooley found the ruling to be a slap in the face and plans to appeal.
