1000Memories Helps Loved Ones Create Memorial Sites
Jonathan Good, Brett Huneycutt, and Rudy Adler were all disillusioned with ways to memorialize their lost loved ones online and decided to launch their own site. The three men quit their jobs and began cranking out codes for their site 1000Memories. The site allows users to set up a page where family and friends can upload messages, photos, stories, songs, and videos about their lost loved one. A recent addition allows users to collect donations in memory of the deceased to give to a cause of choice. 1000Memories has shunned the traditional advertising on similar sites in order to avoid the ickiness of pop-up ads for funeral homes and such. The site is free for everyone, but will soon include an option to upgrade.

Special thanks to Joel Dobris (Professor of Law, UC Davis School of Law) for bringing this to my attention.
