Council in Worcestershire May Heat Pool with Crematorium Heat
Redditch council in Worcestershire is proposing to combat global warming and save money by using the heat generated by the crematorium next door to heat a leisure center and swimming pool. Council members think it’s a waste to allow the energy to go out the chimney and heat the sky, but some local people express concern. Simon Thomas, of Thomas funeral directors, stated, “I don’t know how comfortable people would feel about the swimming pool being heated due to the death of a loved one, I think it’s a bit strange and eerie.”
