Former Quarterback Charged with Stealing from Elderly Woman
Former Ohio State quarterback Art Schlichter, who spent ten years in prison for gambling-related crimes and is now banned from the NFL for life, was charged with stealing over $1 million from a 68-year-old woman in Columbus. Because the woman is considered elderly under Ohio law, he may receive higher penalties for taking her money in the forms of cash, checks, and credit card charges. He’s due in court on Tuesday and will probably remain in jail until then because he is on probation for comparable offenses in Indiana.
