More on Huguette Clark

Bellosguardo I previously blogged about three of Huguette Clark’s distant relatives requesting that a guardian be appointed for her because they are concerned that her attorney, Wallace Bock, and her accountant, Irving Kamsler, are taking advantage of her. Manhattan prosecutors met with Clark and determined that she is “not lucid” and her vision and hearing are poor. However, the relatives’ request was denied. Bock claims that Clark has avoided contact with these relatives for decades, calling them “officious interlopers.” Prosecutors are still investigating how Clark’s $500 million fortune has been handled.

Although Clark’s life has recently been thrown into the limelight, her Santa Barbara house, Bellosguardo, remains hidden from public view. It’s been about fifty years since Clark set foot in the $100 million home, but she still has a caretaker and a landscaping crew to maintain the acreage. Clark’s representatives have turned down offers from at least two billionaires. There are rumors that Bellosguardo will be given to a school, the city, or a charity.
