Most of Joseph Flom’s Millions Go to Charity, Not Family

Joseph Flom Joseph Flom was the first associate at Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He died in February at age 87, and most of his millions will go to charitable causes. He left $50 million to the Flom Family Foundation, $2 million to Harvard Law School, and $1 million to the Skadden Fellowship Foundation.

Flom’s widow, Judi, will get $7.5 million and funds from a marital trust.  Flom’s son, Jason, says that his father always told his children that he would give his money to charity and that they should go make their own money.
